Forum Redesign - 3rd November 09

The forum has been running for a little over 3 weeks now and, after a brief discussion with the webmaster (Nigel) I thought it was time to take a look at which parts are being used most and remove some of the 'chaff'.

The forum has now been pruned a bit to make it easier to navigate and remove some of the superfluous headings - as a result, the flying discussions forum is now just a single forum - you can simply start a thread on any subject you wish and allow the discussion to evolve.

The 'ask an instructor' and 'ask an examiner' forums have been removed so if you do have any questions you want to ask just put them in the discussions forum and we'll try to find answers when we can.

Also, if any members have thoughts on how the forum should be developed then please post in this area and I'll keep an eye on any suggestions.

I wonder if a forum for each aircraft, maybe named after their reg, would be a good idea. Giving the opportunity to talk about individual flights in each type.

Not that I want to bang on about flying circuits in the Eurostar or trying to understand why my instructor wants to fly over the hedge rather than through it.

It may be a place to pass on individual quirks on the type or problems that may be developing, or just flame the last bloke who flew it for leaving old crisp packets in it (not a problem on flex wings I assume).

The General Discussions forum(s) should allow all members to start new topics, post replies etc. If not, let me know and I'll go see why not....(Dave - I'll mail you direct on this one...)
